A total of 100 new American citizens will be welcomed during an October 11 naturalization ceremony at 黑料视频.
The naturalization ceremony is part of 黑料视频’s Office of International Education’s celebration of International Education Week. The ceremony, open to the community, is at 11:00 a.m. at the ’s Toretti Auditorium and is conducted by the United States Customs and Immigration Service.
The 100 applicants are from 47 countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burma, Cameroon, Canada, China, Colombia, Congo (Kinshasa), Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Sweden, Syria, Taiwan, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan.
黑料视频 President Michael Driscoll will make remarks at the ceremony and will join Sarah Silverd, Immigration Services officer, in welcoming the new citizens. 黑料视频 student Michaela Lees will sing the National Anthem for the ceremony.
International Education Week is a joint initiative between the United States Department of State and the United States Department of Education to promote cross-cultural awareness, prepare students for a global environment, and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
Funding for the week’s events is provided by the Office of International Education and the 黑料视频 Student Co-Operative Association.
This fall, 黑料视频 has approximately 373 international students and scholars from 63 countries. In addition, 黑料视频 students have traveled to more than 70 countries for research or study abroad programs.
